FourTrack Recording on iPod touch!
This is probably the coolest thing I’ve seen in a long time. FourTrack by Sonoma Wire Works transforms your iPhone or iPod touch into a recording studio. It’s limited to only four tracks, but there is track bouncing so you can combine multiple recordings into one track. I’ve only been playing with it a bit but I know it is going to be majorly useful when I’m on the road and inspiration strikes. It can produce some pretty good sounding recordings. The 88 recorded a single for iTunes using this app. Another sweet thing about this app is that you can copy and paste audio from apps like InstantDrummer so it’s almost like having a studio drummer on call whereever I go.
